I start by saying that I am not on either of these guys side, but I have listened to the clash over and over again and have to unequivocally declare Kartel as the winner. Firstly, it was clear that Movado is very inexperience when it comes to clash: choking up a lot and talking too much. Secondly, Movado’s band was playing to his advantage and yet Kartel stood his grounds. Thirdly, Movado left the stage for no apparent reason amounting to him being the runner. Finally, it is unfair to say that just because Kartel told Movado about his mother, which I think was rude, then Movado wins. That is like you are getting demolished in a boxing match, but because the opponent hits you below the belt he looses and you win. So, all in all, they both did a good job and the matter might not yet be settled, but at Sting 2008 Kartel has unequivocally established himself as the winner.

to me di audio is clear… Mavado won di clash 2-1, me nuh lie, straight… kartel won di first riddim mashin up di place, wen Mavado was chattin pure idiot tings, singin radio chunes, wid no ideas fi di war… always he say “level level, go so” was cuz him nuh had nuttin ready to tell to kartel, was cuttin djing kartel lika battybwoy scared… me nuh lie ppl, yuh can ear dat.

I listened to and watched the video. First off non of the artists impressed me lyrically. The majority of lyrics were old records. They didn’t bring nothing new apart from a couple of ad libs. I grew up listening to proper sound clash where the DJs use to build a whole heap of new things to kill the other DJ with. These new DJs should stick to making records, cause they are weak inna proper DJ clash. Check Sting 95 and see the lyrics San built for Stitchie. A suh clash fi go.
As for the verdict, in any competition the judge has the final word in this case the crowd gave it to Mavado. In my opinion none of them deserved it. Dem nuh ready yet.
