Sizzla Refuses To ‘Bow’ – Toronto Show Cancelled
Dancehall.Mobi special update – fire-burning dancehall singjay Sizzla was due to perform live this coming Sunday, April 12, at the Paramount Concert Theatre in Woodbridge, Ontario, however the show has reportedly been cancelled, as Sizzla has refused to sign a document stating that he will not spout anti-gay lyrics at the show. As a result of his refusal to sign the document, Sizzla and his management team were reportedly denied visas when they went to the Canadian Embassy here in Kingston earlier this week.
Big up to Sizzla fi standing by his principles! People have a right to live their life as they choose, but artistes also have a right to express themselves also! All the hype re antigay lyrics have no foundation, if someone is antigay, music/lyrics won’t make them more so or influence their behavior. If that’s the case, some religions should also come under scrutiny for antigay sentiment. Music is all about freedom of expression!
Thats why Mi haffi rate sizzla
Yeah Big up Sizzla and Low the Canadian Embassy and all who
disrespect freedom of speech for only certain factions ….
What a tragedy….Do the gays need to go to those concerts?
Or would they, no! So, what is the problem? If you don’t like that kind of music and lyrics, don’t go…
What happened to freedom of speech??
I’m tired of homosexuals turning their personal emotional reactions into policy.. They have enough rights as it is..
I should know, I’m from San francisco…
BURN DEM FOR REAL
I don’t think Sizzla should have to sign any document before performing nor should any artist for that matter. However dancehall artists need to stop promoting violence against homosexuals. If you replace the word “gay” or “batty” and put in the word “black” for example then you might understand where they are coming from.
When you dislike someone because of what they do in their bedroom I guess you may as well not like someone because of the color of their skin or because of their religion or because of where they are from.
I love dancehall music and always will, but I don’t like the fact that they single out a group of people.
I know that isn’t a popular stance to take in dancehall culture, but it wasn’t popular to defend anyone’s civil rights in the beginning.
big up sizzla! let´s step on chichiman!
Shame on yuh fi seh replace the world “batty” with the word “black”. Yuh a true fool. HOMOSEXUALITY IS AN ABOMINATION IN THE EYES OF THE ALMIGHTY. He sees it and will strike judgment.. fi real.
