Gays Want Buju Banton To Sing A Different Song?
The Jamaica Observer’s feature cartoonist, Clovis, has added his own visuals to the on-going Buju Banton vs. U.S. gay rights groups struggle. The cartoon below appeared in today’s Chat magazine, and speaks to the recent meeting that Buju Banton had with gay rights activists in San Francisco. It depicts Buju Banton singing a ‘different sankey’, a reworded version of his breakthrough hit single “Browning” – with words along the lines of one of the proposals that was made by the gay rights representatives at the meeting.

Buju Banton actually claims that he has “moved on” from “Boom Bye Bye” and all the calls for violence and hatred in earlier songs. Buju is “conscious” now. He has even written songs which oppose violence, such as “Murderer.”
Yet he doesn’t want to publicly sign the Reggae Compassionate Act before the TV cameras.
Will the real Buju Banton please stand up?
