A feature in yesterday’s Jamaica Observer newspaper asks several Jamaican artistes about their 2009 Christmas shopping / wish list. You can click here to see the full feature, and we’ve detailed some highlights below:

Macka Diamond – wants a big, fat canary diamond ring valued at US$100,000 (laughs); and also hopes to be able to give about four or five computers to a community centre in ‘South’ and do a Christmas treat for the children there.

Alaine – hopes it doesn’t sound corny but she really just wants to help a lot of people, and She’s planning to. She added that if someone really wanted to get her a gift, they could get her a lifetime supply of Chippie’s banana chips!

Mystic Davis – hopes to get an airline ticket to Germany to see her Mom, and hopes that She’ll come back to see these gifts waiting for her – three pairs of creative recreation sneakers, in pink, gold and black; a really good HD camera so She can record some of her dance routines for playback; jewelery; a really big backpack so She can stuff all her things in once piece when traveling.

Lady Saw – simply wants to refurbish her kitchen so that she can cook in there this Christmas. She will however, readily accept, girly stuff such as makeup, clothes, perfumes and shoes.

G-Whizz – a car, preferably a BMW, but he’ll settle for another brand. He would love to purchase a house for his mother and hopes to do so in the future. He will readily accept Nike sneakers and New Era baseball caps of every color.

Prodigal Son – prays that his mother who is ill, will get well. He would also like to spend more time with his children, and just have more peace in his life and the country in general.
