Dancehall.Mobi news update – further to our report last Thursday about deejay / producer Mr. G (formerly known as Goofy) being arrested and charged for illegal possession of a firearm and robbery with aggravation with regard to an incident involving ‘the enigma’, L.A. Lewis, Goofy reportedly appeared in the Gun Court last Friday (October 30), and was offered bail in the sum of J$300,000. He was also ordered to surrender his travel documents.

Further details about the incident were revealed in court on Friday – it was reported that Goofy had given Lewis $10,000 to distribute some posters for an upcoming entertainment event. However, the task was not done, and Goofy demanded that his money be returned. Lewis reportedly returned $7,000, but refused to hand over the rest, which caused the altercation. Further to this, it is alleged that Lewis pulled a machete, at which point Goofy’s lawyer pointed out his client was merely defending himself by pulling his licensed firearm – after the machete was brought into play. Goofy then allegedly relieved Lewis of his cell phone as ‘payment’ for the outstanding sum.

They will return to court on November 27 when the case is set to be heard once again.
