1940 – veteran ska / reggae singer Clancy Eccles is born in St. Mary.
1991 – After a long legal battle, Bob Marley’s $11.5 million estate is settled in court, and left in the hands of his family, headed by Rita Marley.
1991 – A daughter is born to Ziggy Marley, and he names her Justice, in honor of the verdict which was delivered on the same day, which awarded Bob Marley’s estate to his family.
1994 – dancehall/reggae singer Garnett Silk perishes in a fire at his house in Manchester, while attempting to save his mother’s life.
