JFJ Demands Intensive Investigations Into Kentucky Kid’s Death
Dancehall.Mobi news update – local human rights watchdog group, Jamaicans For Justice (JFJ), has vowed that it will not allow the recent shooting death of up & coming deejay Kentucky Kid (real name – Robert Hill) by the police to be swept under the carpet, and is demanding that the police’s Bureau of Special Investigations (which investigates alleged police wrong doings) conduct a very speedy an intensive investigation in order to clarify the circumstances surrounding Kentucky Kid’s death.
In a statement issued yesterday, Carolyn Gomes of the JFJ said, “The JFJ is deeply appalled, disturbed and saddened by the slaying of Hill by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).” Kentucky Kid had previously complained that the police were harassing and threatening him since a July 2009 motor vehicle accident involving his car and a police car that allegedly ran a red light. He had said that he and his wife (who was pregnant) were harassed and physically assaulted at least twice since the motor vehicle accident.
He posted this video to his YouTube page after the incidents, outlining all that he was going through at the hands of alleged rogue police.

Kentucky Kid and i have been friends for three years now.We worked on some music together and he and his wife are the most genuine people ive ever known.Kentucky not only predicted but named names and posted Youtube videos and songs on Myspace about these police..I thought after all of that…the police would be afraid to harm him .I was wrong. Jamaicans for Justice and anyone else doing something to bring a light thank you .We must not let the wicked hide in the shadows.,We must expose the police and get justice for Kentucky .SO that others will not be tortured harrassed and ultimately killed by the police. i dont knw im personally but we talked on facebook..they murdured im..becuase he wanted justice for harassing im and his wife…i hope they find the murders becuase i KNOW there wasnt any shoot out….
I wasn’t there but everything inna mi body ah seh that it was a murder..no shoot out….just kill dem di waan kill him. I feel for his wife and family…police force in jamaica is disgusting, despicable and dem naaah protect me…protect urself ppl..from politician, from bad mind, from criminal and from POLICE!!
