Dancehall.Mobi news update – speaking recently at a function in Mandeville, Byron Buckley, President of the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ), reportedly urged the public to boycott media houses (radio stations and cable channels) that continue to carry derogatory lyrics and lewd programming content.

He was quoted saying: “… the public should shout out against the negative content, instead of merely engaging in verandah talk … People need to know there are alternative voices, alternative morals…But to do that, we have to listen to what’s out there and engage in discussion … Recently we had to call a particular colleague and read him the riot act; we do that [reference to the PAJ taking action where necessary] … “
