Dancehall.Mobi news update – Sting 2009 is just two days away, and security for this year’s event will reportedly be ‘no-nonsense’, with a zero-tolerance approach towards potential troublemakers. Here are some highlights:

  • 130 police officers and 400 private security guards.
  • Traffic management starting from Caymanas Crossing and other major intersections in Portmore.
  • Wreckers removing vehicles parked in no-parking zones.
  • Early gates opening (5 p.m.).
  • Six additional gates at the entrance (to avoid congestion).
  • All persons entering the venue will be searched.
  • No weapons allowed. Licensed firearm holders are advised to leave their weapons at home or at the nearest police station.
  • No bottles allowed. All beverages will be served in cups.
  • No camcorders, video recorders and/or audio recording equipment allowed.
  • Vending allowed for authorized vendors only.
