Dancehall.Mobi news update – the annual Rototom Sunsplash – one of the largest European reggae festivals – typically happens every summer at Osoppo, in the province of Udine in Italy. However, the Rototom media office has indicated that the festival will be relocating to Spain next year, with locations in Barcelona, Madrid, Salamanca and the Basque Country being considered. A final decision on the venue will be made soon.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the festival and its organizers had been accused of facilitating the use of drugs (specifically marijuana) and breaking the country’s laws, thus resulting in a stop order being placed on the event in Italy. A Rototom media official has described Spain as being “a liberal, open and welcoming land“. More on this event soon.
