Dance Promoters Facing More Police Pressure
As if the police’s recent strict enforcement of the Noise Abatement Act wasn’t enough, the police reportedly met recently with the promoters of several popular venues and weekly events including Junior Reid (owner of ‘The View’ club on Eastwood Park Road), Q45 (promoter of Hennessy Friday) and Winston ‘Wee Pow’ Powell (promoter of Weddy Weddy Wednesdays). Reid has been asked to cease & desist operating his venue pending an official application to the authorities for permission to operate as it has been; Wee Pow was told to downsize his boxes and to position them inward to curtail the level of noise emitted; Q45 was told that Hennessy Fridays should be held every other Friday, not every Friday … full report at the Star’s website.
