A plethora of hip hop-themed riddims (dubbed ‘island pop’) have littered the Jamaican musical landscape over the past couple years, but 2010 seems to be the dawning of a revival of the essence of dancehall. It seems more genuine dancehall riddims are being released this year, and this latest from Christopher Birch called “Sexy Bak” is one such.
