Round Two Of Buju Banton’s Battle Begins On Valentine’s Day
The long-awaited date for the retrial of dancehall/reggae artiste Buju Banton on gun and drug conspiracy charges has been set. The retrial will begin on Valentine’s Day, February 14. A mistrial was declared during Banton’s first trial in September (after jurors were unable to reach the unanimous decision that was required to find him either guilty or not guilty), and the new trial was supposed to start in December 2010, but was postponed so that Banton, who is on US$250,000 bail and subject to house arrest, could spend time with his family.
