‘Kingston Story’, the Dre Skull (Mixpak Records)-produced new album from ace dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel, is set to be released in June 2011, and on this album, Kartel is said to be taking Jamaica’s traditional singles-based riddim culture a step forward to produce what is being described as an expansive concept album that will revolutionize Jamaican music in both form and format. The result is a robust body of genre-spanning music encompassed on ‘Kingston Story,’ music that not only elevates Kartel’s repertoire, but also shows the world that contemporary Jamaican styles translate better than ever to crossover rhythmic radio.

The album’s first single, ‘Go Go Wine’, is a bouncy slab of future dancehall with an infectious hook that seems destined for both club and radio play. Check it out below. The North American premier of this single happens tomorrow (April 22) at around noon on Jabba’s Sirius XM show. It will also be available via iTunes, Amazon and other popular digital retail outlets on May 3.
